From the day of the surgery to the subsequent process

- On the day of surgeryDetails of ICL surgery
Several hours before the surgery, you will be given eye drops to dilate your pupils.
Then, the surgery began on what looked like a proper operating table. One of my eyes was washed with an orange liquid, my eye was held open and fixed in place, and anesthetic eye drops were administered.
During the surgery, I could only see the light directly above me, and although I could feel my eyeball being pressed, there was no particular pain (it was almost painless, and when I said it hurt a little at one point, they immediately added two or three more drops of anesthetic eye drops and it became painless again).
but,During surgery on my right eye, my iris nearly popped out, and my eyeball had to be stitched up.(I think he said he had to sew it back together two or three times). Normally, they don't sew it and just wait for it to heal naturally.
I never dreamed at the time that there was such a big problem with the iris of my right eye.
Furthermore, I was prohibited from taking a bath for a week after the surgery. I wasn't even allowed to wash my face with water. I was told this was to prevent water from getting into my eyes and causing an infection.
If you want to wash your hair, I think it would be best to have it done at a nearby hair salon. - Immediately after surgeryDetails immediately after surgery
After the surgeryI was given protective glasses and told to wear them all day.. To the eyes,Rough and lumpy feelingI feel that way.
When I look in the mirror,It was discovered that blood was coming from the white of the eye.。
right eye Wipe around your eyes (with something specifically for wiping your eyes) →Apply three different types of eye drops every hour.I was told that (I was surprised because I hadn't heard anything about it).
Both of my eyes felt gritty that day, but I endured it.
- Day 2 after surgeryRight eye stitches removed
I went back to the hospital to have the stitches in my right eye removed. (I was still wearing my protective glasses.)
Also, that dayApply three types of eye drops morning, noon, and night (three times a day).I will.
I was told to sit still and upright in the examination room chair while they removed the stitches from my right eye. I was told that the gritty feeling would go away, but surprisingly, the gritty feeling remained in both eyes.
Right eye after suture removal My eyesight has improved significantly: right eye: 2.0, left eye: 1.5That's it.
- One week laterFollow-up examination one week after surgery
The lab technician at the hospital told me that my eyes still feel slightly gritty and are also bloodshot. My right eye, which was stitched up during surgery, feels particularly gritty.

left eye I noticed that the glare in my right eye hasn't gone away, both during the day and at night.The lights in supermarkets and convenience stores are also dazzling.My right eye's field of vision appears to be faintly hazy, almost as if covered by a white mist.

The author's vision with their right eye If you wear glasses, you'll understand this, but it's quite annoying when fingerprints get on your glasses lenses and make them look white, right? It's like there's a faint blur in my right eye's field of vision, and it's making me uncomfortable.
When I told the doctor who performed the surgery that only my right eye was sensitive to light,I was told that it's normal to experience increased sensitivity to light after cataract surgery.。However, there are doubts as to whether the mechanism by which light sensitivity occurs after cataract surgery is the same as the mechanism by which light sensitivity occurs after ICL surgery.す。
Then I was told to come back to the hospital in two weeks. - 10 days later10 days after surgery
The bleeding in my eye hasn't stopped completely, but it's getting a little better. I still have some glare and a white haze in my right eye.
- Three weeks laterThree weeks laterMedical checkup
The bleeding in my eye has stopped, and it's almost back to normal.

Upon arriving at the hospital,I told the receptionist that I was experiencing "glare and a white haze in my right eye."I had my eyes examined.
During my consultation, I was seen by a doctor who wasn't the surgeon, and the first thing he said was...I was told, "You can see almost too much," and it seemed like they were going to end the examination right there.In fact, my eyesight has definitely improved a lot.
but,There was no mention whatsoever of the glare in his right eye or the white haze.So when I asked about it, they said, "Perhaps,It might be due to lens reflection."That's what they said.When asked how to reduce glare,
Doctor:There are also eye drops that constrict the pupils to reduce glare.」
Author:But will I be using that for the rest of my life?」
Doctor:That's how it is, I suppose.」I was deeply shocked when they said it as if it were someone else's problem.
Also, saying that there are no problems because your eyesight has improved is strange.I was told that I would get used to the glare in a few months, and I was instructed to come back in a month before leaving the examination room.
The real reason why only my right eye became sensitive to light.
However, afterwards,When I had an examination at another hospital, it was easily discovered that my iris was thinning, which was causing the glare and the white haze.The iris acts like a curtain, and it seems that when it thins, glare occurs. Furthermore,I was extremely shocked to hear that the iris, once lost, cannot be restored.
The images below show the iris and cornea before surgery. I forgot to take a picture, but this examination revealed that the thickness of the iris had been reduced by about half.
I had thought that if there were any problems with ICL, I could just remove the lens and go back to normal, so this was unexpected.。Brightness and white mistIf this condition is going to last a lifetime, I regret not having had surgery and instead just wearing contact lenses.
Since post-operative examinations were also performed at Matsumoto Eye Clinic, I'm puzzled as to why they didn't notice the thinning of the iris. If they knew about it and deliberately concealed it, I can't forgive them.
Additionally, due to glare and a white haze in my right eye, the way I perceive colors differs between my left and right eyes.To begin with, we weren't informed beforehand that the color could change this much.During the counseling session, I was only informed about nighttime halos and glare, and infections.
