Biological researcher

First, let's hear the opinion of Dr. Tostada, a physician and biological researcher, regarding mRNA vaccines.

I will quote from the series of tweets above ↓

mRNA vaccines fall under the category of transfection technology in the biotechnology field. Knockdown and RNA-type CRISPR-Cas9 vaccines are also included. In general terms, transfection involves introducing RNA from outside into cells, which can not only alter cells to have different functions, but also edit genes and induce cancer.

Therefore, I completely disagree with the statement that "RNA has a very short lifespan in the body and is destroyed, so it's safe." I don't want you to misunderstand; I'm not equating mRNA vaccines with transfection in general and saying they're dangerous. The important question is: are the RNA and protein in mRNA vaccines safer than knockdown or Crisp-Cas9?

Since the medical safety has been sufficiently demonstrated, from a biological standpoint, we need evidence that "mRNA vaccines have no adverse effects." To be convinced of this, I believe the following experimental results are necessary. Since this is outside my area of expertise, if anyone knows of any relevant literature, please let me know.

• Phenotype analysis of spike protein overexpressing mice • Comprehensive analysis of mRNA and methylation using RNA-seq • Analysis of sequences that may be off-target for mRNA These are necessary for me to be satisfied. However, due to my lack of knowledge, I am currently unaware of them. Therefore, I cannot be certain that there will be no impact, and I feel "uncomfortable" with this approach.
