Personality traits of ENTJ (Leader type)

The following is a quote (with some modifications) from "Let's Look at the World from the Perspective of MBTI Personality Type Theory" (website no longer exists).

They possess excellent intuition, able to see the big picture and discern the connections between things. They then reason based on objective facts and make rational decisions. They always have clear opinions and express them clearly and without hesitation.

I cannot tolerate failure or inefficiency. I identify irrational aspects of systems and come up with ways to improve them. Even with complex problems, I thoroughly understand the current situation and find efficient strategies. Once I am satisfied with my choices, I put them into action without hesitation.

They are decisive, competent, and efficiently handle many tasks. When possible, they delegate tasks to capable individuals, ensuring that the right people are in the right positions to achieve goals.

They are keen to fulfill their responsibilities and cannot rest easy until they can directly see that things are going well.

They anticipate future events early on and know what needs to be done. If the status quo needs to be changed, it's a rewarding challenge. They think with a long-term perspective and sometimes come up with innovative ideas and plans that challenge conventional wisdom.

We will take great care and dedicate ourselves to effectively advancing our strategy. We will appropriately allocate resources, engage with those around us to request cooperation, create a favorable environment, and ensure that our plans proceed smoothly.

Even when faced with difficulties, I use my inherent vitality to try and overcome the current situation. I always feel the need to be careful to ensure that my plans do not stray too far from the present reality.

They prefer to make judgments based on fair and universally accepted criteria and seek order. However, they believe that reforms should be made whenever necessary to prepare for future changes. Alternatively, they may try to create new rules and systems themselves and take control of the whole, arguing that this is the safest approach.

They can accept victory and defeat gracefully, based on fairness and a rational spirit. They strive to achieve success through their own efforts and the efforts of capable individuals.

If they successfully become leaders, they will increasingly utilize their judgment and wield considerable power. They often hold positions where they value discipline and manage the organization while also determining overall policy.

I can't stand hearing sentimental excuses, and I sometimes flatly reject them or give them a cold stare. This is because I believe that everyone should think rationally, take responsibility for their own future, and therefore it's only natural to constantly think and act with determination.

Sometimes I may offer harsh opinions or make ruthless judgments, but these are necessary for maintaining order and achieving our goals. Blaming others or circumstances is something only incompetent people do and is shameful.

Even ENTJs can sometimes feel sentimental. However, in most cases, they see this as a weakness and push it aside.

They enjoy lively discussions. They are confident in their own opinions, articulate, assertive, and skilled at explaining things, often overwhelming their opponents. In fact, their keen insight makes it difficult to convince those with opposing views.

Because they speak their minds without hesitation, those unfamiliar with this can end up backing down without fully expressing their own opinions. Even confident individuals may find themselves doubting their own beliefs when faced with a plausible counter-argument from an ENTJ.

However, ENTJs sometimes jump to conclusions and make judgments without fully considering and evaluating the information. They will readily acknowledge and respect those who can provide objective and logically persuasive arguments.

I want my home to be beautiful and tidy, and to be able to live efficiently. I want my children to receive a good education. And I want my spouse to share the same values and work devotedly. ENTJs are full of talent and energy, but because they prioritize their careers, they tend to neglect their family. Be careful not to let this lead to problems.

They may feel affection for and dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to those they are very close to. For example, they might have a family member who is ill, and supporting that person becomes their motivation for work.

*The pairs that tend to clash and the pairs that have good romantic compatibility may overlap. This is because while people may dislike those who are the complete opposite of themselves due to disagreements, they may also be attracted to those who appear mysterious because they are different. However, it seems that these relationships often end up breaking down.

(Advice for those dating an ENTJ)
reference ENTJ and romance
ENTJs often appear very domineering in romantic relationships. Because they struggle to handle emotions, they can sometimes seem insensitive to their partner's feelings. However, this doesn't mean ENTJs lack emotions; they simply cannot express their feelings unless they are in a comfortable environment.

ENTJs are very keen to improve interpersonal relationships and are always looking for ways to enhance them.

If you're having problems with your ENTJ partner, don't try to hide the issue; be frank and honest. Your partner wants to hear how you actually feel, not just guess at your feelings.
