INTJ (Strategist type)This section explains the integration of the second and third functions.
The following is a quote (with some modifications) from "Let's Look at the World from the Perspective of MBTI Personality Type Theory" (website no longer exists).
The conflict, compromise, and integration of extroverted thinking (Te) and introverted feeling (Fi).
The challenge for INTJs in adolescence is their second psychological function. Extraverted Thinking (Te) and the third psychological function Introverted Feeling (Fi) The goal is to strike a balance.
Should we think objectively and make rational judgments, or should we hone our inner sensibilities and consider meaning, beliefs, and the psychological impact on ourselves and others? A conflict arises between these two approaches.
Which of these two psychological functions is dominant depends on the time and situation. It's impossible to integrate and utilize both effectively from the start. You have to skillfully choose which to use depending on the circumstances.
Generally, extroverted thinking works better, but when you're alone or introspective, introverted feeling will likely be more active.
Sometimes, one of these psychological functions can become too dominant, leading to negative consequences. In reality, a unified perception is achieved when these two psychological functions work together in balance.
Extroverted thinking allows us to reason and make rational judgments based on cause and effect and objective criteria. We use reason to understand the principles and mechanisms of matter, machines, society, and organizations. We then attempt to solve problems theoretically and analytically.
They seek victory and power according to criteria for winning and losing that are easily understood by everyone. They are also concerned with appearances, constantly thinking about how others perceive them and where they stand in the world.
Based on such judgments, they will likely intend to proceed with the plan in a way that avoids any mistakes.
Furthermore, to achieve our goals, we create a supportive environment and engage with others.
INTJs find beauty in intricately and meticulously constructed systems and seek joy in understanding them.
Introverted feeling allows you to deeply consider the significance of your vision and keep a quiet passion burning.
Furthermore, the values secretly nurtured within oneself are those that value originality. Even if one is called eccentric or odd, as long as one has a vision backed by conviction, it's not a problem.
Therefore, regardless of what others think, I will strive to achieve my goals.
This usually leads to positive results for ISTJs, as they are not swayed by irresponsible opinions from others and move forward with conviction. However, if they hold onto a very strong image of themselves, they may make high demands on themselves and others, becoming inflexible.
While this might be fine for INTJs themselves, they will need to understand and respect the differences in abilities and characteristics of those around them. They will also need to defend the originality of others.
Because they seek universal influence and tend to think theoretically, their attention is drawn to science and technology.
Alternatively, some individuals are driven by a desire to help others in situations requiring specialized knowledge, skills, and rational judgment.
