How INTPs (Researcher Type) Set Goals and Gather Information

INTPs naturally set many long-term goals, but they may lack clear action plans to achieve those goals. Setting specific goals to achieve those long-term goals and creating plans and intermediate objectives is effective. These specific details allow for a range of choices within a contrasting career path.

This type of person is good at taking advantage of unexpected possibilities, but once an opportunity arises, they may find it difficult to take decisive action to further advance the goals they have set up so far.

Constantly updating plans to review and improve goals based on unexpected opportunities helps INTPs in this process. Once their resolve is established, reading about future possibilities and finding direction for their future career is a standard approach for this type. Most will seek opportunities that allow for innovation and education.

INTPs often overlook important information due to the sheer number of options available. Many INTP types tend to consider too many options and need to determine what is most important in their personal priorities. Documenting and narrowing down a list of priorities can be very helpful.
For example, you could first list all the possibilities, then select the top candidates from that list, and then list those as well.

Romantic compatibility type pair

INTPs are most compatible in romantic relationships with partners with whom they can share ideas and create exciting experiences, as well as partners who can complement their weaknesses.

From an INTP's perspective...

*The pairs that tend to clash and the pairs that have good romantic compatibility may overlap. This is because while people may dislike those who are the complete opposite of themselves due to disagreements, they may also be attracted to those who appear mysterious because they are different. However, it seems that these relationships often end up breaking down.

(Advice for those dating an INTP)
INTPs often become engrossed in thinking things through on their own, which can make them difficult to get close to. In relationships, they tend to remain silent and not take action until they feel the other person is worthy of hearing their deepest feelings.

One thing to remember is that INTPs enjoy relationships based on deep mutual affection, but they don't play games. INTPs are not good at reading other people's feelings, so in this regard, you may need to be direct about what you need and want. Also, INTPs are not good at expressing their own thoughts and feelings, so you may need to pay attention to the subtle signals they give you.
