Extroverted Sensing (Se)Extroverted Intuition (Ne)Both types share a common trait: a curious desire to absorb information. Extroverted sensing is inquisitive to the real world and wants to fully experience it with all five senses. They enjoy creating things with their hands and engaging in physical activity. Extroverted intuition, on the other hand, is interested in ideas and ways of thinking and is inquisitive in that area. They seek intellectual stimulation and are interested in the various things that can be conceived in their minds. Both can be described as proactive and adventurous in their approach to new experiences.

Extroverted sensing observes the external world as it is, while extroverted intuition explores connections, interpretations, and possibilities. Therefore, while extroverted sensing types always keep their eyes on reality, extroverted intuitive types are often distracted and absent-minded, captivated by sudden flashes of insight from the unconscious.

Extroverted sensing types are good at being realistic, but they are often perceived as having poor intuition because they are not used to looking for the hidden meanings behind what they actually see. They tend to be critical of unrealized ideas and abstract theories, or they show no interest in them from the start.

On the other hand, while extroverted intuitive types are good at finding connections and possibilities in things, they often misjudge the feasibility of realizing ideas without carefully observing reality. Also, when they become distracted, they may be slow to react to external situations and changes. However, there is no problem if they can respond cleverly based on even a little information.

These differences in characteristics can lead to misunderstandings in communication. Extroverted sensing types may not understand the figurative expressions of extroverted intuitive types, or they may not find the passion for possibilities realistic. They may also feel anxious or frustrated by ambiguous expressions. On the other hand, extroverted intuitive types may not show much interest in things that extroverted sensing types are interested in, such as sports, travel, food, fashion, beautiful objects, and comedy, and may struggle to keep the conversation going. To avoid such misunderstandings in relationships, it is necessary to realize that they have fundamentally different ways of perceiving things.
